Passage on First Reading of AN ORDINANCE to authorize the director of the department of recreation, parks and cultural affairs to designate parks, playgrounds and athletic fields, or portions thereof, which may be used by athletic leagues, and by teams and clubs associated with leagues, only with a permit issued by the department.


14. Introduction and First Reading. Consideration. Passage on First Reading of AN ORDINANCE to amend Section 7-1600 of the Zoning Ordinance to change the requirements for the construction of more than eight townhouses in a row.

Public Notice

The Alexandria Call to Community Kick-Off Event will be held on Sunday, November 8, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. at the George Washington National Masonic Memorial, 101 Callahan Drive, Alexandria, Virginia. The Keynote Speaker will be The Honorable Eleanor Holmes Norton, United States House of Representatives. There will be a Panel Discussion on Community Perspectives.

It is anticipated that more than two Council Members will be in attendance.
