Alexandria City Councilman Rob Krupicka Honored by Virginia Jaycees

Alexandria City Councilman Rob Krupicka will receive the Virginia Jaycees’ Outstanding Young Virginians award in a ceremony at the Dulles Hilton Hotel on Saturday, November 10 at 6 p.m. Krupicka was one of three Virginians chosen to receive this award, which is dedicated to residents between the ages of 21 and 40 who embody the ideals of the Jaycees: volunteerism and community leadership.

“It is an honor to be recognized by an organization that itself gives so much to the community,” said Krupicka. “I am proud to be a Jaycee and I’m proud of their contributions to our Commonwealth.”

The award is being given to Councilman Krupicka in recognition for his involvement in civic and governmental service, his contributions to improving the lives of community residents, and his voluntary service in the community and in philanthropic endeavors. His nomination was based on his work and achievements in reforming the City’s taxi industry, working with the Governor’s Start Strong Council to expand pre-school access in Virginia, and improving pedestrian safety at the state and local level.

“We are proud of Councilman Krupicka for his contributions to our City and his dedication to public service,” said Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille. “His achievements serve as an example for other young leaders seeking to foster change in their communities.”

The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) is a national organization that supports and promotes volunteerism and leadership in its communities. The Virginia Jaycees, established in 1920, has been dedicated to publicly recognizing Outstanding Young Virginians since 1942. Modeled on the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce’s Ten Outstanding Young Americans program, this award annually recognizes young Virginians who, through their activities, best exemplify the ideals expressed in the Jaycee Creed.
