Community Meetings Held for the Braddock Metro Neighborhood Plan

The City of Alexandria’s Department of Planning and Zoning invites the public to participate in two upcoming community meetings on the Braddock Metro Neighborhood Plan. The third in a series of community education workshops will be on Monday, October 29. The meeting will be held at Jefferson Houston School, 1501 Cameron St., from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Kittelson and Associates, Inc., a consultant to the plan, will be discussing the existing transportation elements, their current use, and their contribution to the Braddock neighborhood. They will also present information about parking rates, site and roadway design, and travel demand management tools that will contribute to concepts for change in the area.

A collaborative stakeholder planning session will be held on Saturday, November 3, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The session will kick off with a community visual preference survey based on photos taken by community members, followed by a day-long community design charrette workshop, beginning at 10 a.m.

The public is invited to provide input on the Braddock Metro Neighborhood Plan at both of these meetings. Child care will be provided.
