Critically Injured Child Dies,
Alexandria Police Investigate Suspicious Death

The 3-year-old Alexandria girl who had been in critical condition at Children’s National Medical Center has died. Katelyn Frazier was pronounced dead at 11:32 a.m. today after being removed from life support. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and manner of death.

Detectives with the Alexandria Police Department are investigating the circumstances that led to Katelyn’s injuries. On Wednesday, December 27, at 4:04 p.m., medics responded to an apartment in the 2200 block of North Beauregard Street for the report of an unconscious child. Medics called police and had the victim transported to Children’s by helicopter. Katelyn remained unresponsive and in critical condition; she never regained consciousness.

No charges have been filed, and the case remains under criminal investigation.
