NOTICE OF SPECIAL COUNCIL INSTALLATION MEETING


Please take notice that there was a Special Installation Meeting of the newly elected City Council of the City of Alexandria, Virginia, [which will take office on July 1, 2000] at 7:30 p.m., on Monday, June 26, 2000, in the T.C. Williams High School John C. Albohm Auditorium, 3330 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia, at which time the following program was considered.

1. Musical Selection by the Alexandria City Employees Choir.

The Alexandria City Employees Choir sang the "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

2. Call to Order of the Meeting by the City Clerk and Clerk of Council.

The Meeting was called to order by City Clerk and Clerk of Council Jett.

3. Posting of the Colors by the Combined Alexandria Police, Fire and Sheriff Departments' Color Guard.

The Colors were posted by the combined Alexandria Police, Fire and Sheriff Departments' Color Guard.

5. Reading of the Statement of the Results of the May 2, 2000 Election by the Secretary of the Electoral Board Julie Robben Lineberry.

Julie Robben Lineberry, Secretary of the Electoral Board, read the above statement. Certificates were then presented to the Members of City Council.

6. City Clerk calls for the Oath of Office for Mayor Kerry J. Donley to be Given by Clerk of the Circuit Court Edward Semonian.

City Clerk Jett requested that the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Edward Semonian, give the Oath of Office to Kerry J. Donley, as Mayor. Mr. Semonian administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Kerry J. Donley.

7. Oath of Office Given to Members of City Council William C. Cleveland, Claire M. Eberwein, William D. Euille, Redella S. "Del" Pepper, David G. Speck, and Joyce Woodson by Clerk of the Circuit Court Edward Semonian.

14. Announcement of an Outdoor Reception Immediately Following This Ceremony with Music by an Ensemble of the Alexandria Symphony.

An announcement was made by the Mayor that an outdoor reception would be held immediately following the Installation with music by CON BRIO! directed by Shaughn Dowd featuring musicians from the Alexandria Symphony.
