The City Council has been invited to join the Planning Commission at the urban design workshop for the East Eisenhower Planning Study on Thursday, May 30, 2002. The workshop will be held at the Charles E. Beatley Central Library, 5005 Duke Street, beginning at 6:00 p.m. An "open house" will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., providing the opportunity for individuals to review the work to date.

This workshop will start with a series of short presentations on the important issues that will affect the urban design planning. Site-specific design issues will be discussed. Following this overview, they will break out into smaller groups to discuss street design, building heights, retail, public spaces and parks, transit and parking. The workshop should end by 10:00 p.m. Sandwiches and light refreshments will be provided.
