OPENING 1. Calling the Roll. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Euille, and the City Clerk called the roll. All members of Council were present. (Councilwoman Hughes arrived at 5:55 p.m.) EXECUTIVE SESSION 2. Consideration of a Closed Meeting for Legal Advice and Consultation with Legal Counsel Regarding Actual and Pending Litigation and Possible Acquisition of Real Property, and Consideration of Prospective Candidates For Employment and Appointment by City Council. This Closed Meeting Will Be Continued to August 25 and 26 and September 8, 2011. WHEREUPON, upon motion by Councilman Smedberg, seconded by Councilwoman Pepper and carried 6-0, City Council convened in closed executive session at 5:33, pursuant to Section 2.2-3711(a)(1) and (7) of the Code of Virginia, for the purpose of discussing personnel matters and consulting with legal counsel regarding pending or potential litigation, and that the executive session be continued from time to time, pursuant to the dates set forth in City Council's published schedule, to allow City Council to reconvene for the purposes stated above.
